Work with Me

Most Rails problems aren't Rails problems.

They're process problems. Communication problems. "we'll fix it later" problems. I help teams untangle those, with Rails as the tool.

What I do

  • Technical leadership for teams that need direction, not just code
  • Architecture review and honest feedback on what to fix first
  • Code review and mentoring for mid-level Rails developers
  • Data migration planning and implementation (Rails + PostgreSQL)
  • Async consulting via written communication, no long meetings

Who this is for

Small to mid-size product teams. Startups that picked Rails and want to keep it running well as they grow. CTOs who need a second opinion. Developers who want someone to think through a problem with them.

I work best with teams that value clarity and sustainable pace over heroics.

Not a fit if you need someone to build from scratch on a fixed deadline. I focus on thinking and direction, not full-time delivery.

How I work

Everything is async-first. You write, I respond thoughtfully. No mandatory video calls unless it genuinely helps. I'm based in Turkey (UTC+3) and available for European and North American timezones.

Engagements are usually weekly retainers or single sessions. I keep my client list small so I can actually be useful to each one.

Background

I've been writing Ruby on Rails professionally since 2011. I currently work on a data migration platform at a Swedish SaaS company. I run Ruby Türkiye co-host the Yakut podcast, and write at this blog about code, tools, and the thinking behind them.
